Economic reliance on having a pool of infantry to produce resources results in a lack of flexibility
With a preponderence set towards technology, research and resource-gathering, the United States is a faction that requires strong strategic flair to use. The United States shares some units with England and France, but in other areas it also has other units worth noting: a line of medium ranged and melee cavalry; a Marine unit that emerges two ages earlier than other factions'; as well as a slew differing units at differing ages. It is thus somewhat of a challenge using the United States, as one has to keep in mind that American strengths and weaknesses often shift this way and that way - but one can be assured that by the last two eras, the United States is an extremely strong military force.
- Norse factions have Volvas. Seeresses were said to be sorcerors and tis said only females had this power; they would cast the runes for future and served as medics. In-game function could be to heal and extend LOS
- Christian factions have Priests, were brought to battle while the Seers and Volva (Seeress) weren't always. Players of the North have extensive LOS capabilities, and healing. (More information on both in later comments below)
- Norse Generals called Hersirs. Commanders of Norse warbands.
- Most Norse "senate" leaders called the Jarl. Leaders of Norse clans.
- Germanic factions have Seers and Seeresses; Otherwise function the same as Norse Volva. Regenerating health for units with the added bonus of amazing LOS.
- ALL Germanic Major Generals = Reik- Leaders of Germanic armies and an ode to their ancestors'.
- Germanic Minor Generals = Drohtin - Leaders of Germanic warbands.
- Anglo Saxon factions have Huscarls and all field unique longbowmen.
- Anglo-Saxon General units called the Dryhten. Leaders of Anglo-Saxon warbands.
- Anglo-Saxon "senate" leaders called the Earl. Leaders of Anglo-Saxon regions. Wessex' called the King as is what they believed themselves to be for most of our timeline.
- Norse factions should field the best Navy - Frankia (HRE) and Byzantium (ERE) as contenders. Abbasids and Idrisids also field a fine naval force.
- Norse factions have Berserkirs - the Berserkir was a crucial unit for the Vikings, serves as a fast-moving tank.
- Norse factions field Shieldmaidens - female warriors armed with swords or axes and Skaldjberi counterpart.
Frisia (Frisians - Germanic with Norse/Late-Game Frankish Influence) Leaders: (Kings) Aldgisl, Redbad, Poppo (Poppo's defeat led to Frankish domination) Religion/Culture: Germanic/ Germanic Pagan Best Unit: Bloedwacht (Blood-Guard; heavy infantry berserkir basically), Kavalery Ridanz (Swift Raiding cavalry, expensive compared to their relatively cheap units, to represent their reliance on Britanny for Horsemen, but they are powerful; among the best raiding cavalry in the game. they are heavy cavalry with sword/axe and shield.) , Bôgesjitter Ridanz (Raider Ranged Cavalry, not quite as powerful as their heavy cavalry counterpart but is a force to be reckoned with. Breton cavalry are relied on because for Frisia, in constant war, the Bloedwacht is focused on (by default, not by player obviously.) and the Breton's horsemen suffice, weak as they are. Strengths: Field cheap, quicker infantry, trained faster, and good uniquecavalry all-round as well. Building resistance against the Franks has allowed their buildings to have a better constitution than other less developed Germanic nation at the cost of longer training time. Bretons send help in the form of tribute and "workers" as defensive towers (which are stronger and towers and fortressses train Breton levies and heavy units, respectively) are easier to make. The Bretons also pay tribute to the cause in ways of an increased caravan limit to represent their economic trade - and their cavalry units sent from Brittany and trained at forts/towers. The Frisians' towers are stronger than some to offset their weaker forts. They may supplement their (less attack) Forts with (more attack) towers for a strategic player.

Their Reik is trained with bodyguards (if possible), has more health than any other Germanic factions's leader, and has more craft. Weaknesses: Their cavalry are more expensive, to reflect their lack of horses and constant warfare.Friesland is a balanced faction - they must contend with securing their border while being quite adept at rushing. Their forts are weaker than others, Their powerful Reik will hopefully offset this for a strategic player. Note: * Frisians are strong at this time partly due to their Warlords becoming their Reik, multiple tribes forming a coalition without any royal claims. They were being cornered, at this time and had to give it their all. They are backed by Brittany and the Bretons aid them well; perhaps @Velvetclaw could include some more Breton-inspired intermixing as well to diversify them further. Brittany was to be its own faction and belonged as such, but Frisia will make up for that while also showing the power the Frisians could bring with the backing of Britanny. Normandy will receive aid from Brittany as well, almost making Brittany its own nation without having a spot for them.
Breton mercenaries? not a problem. I do have some of thise
Ubba Ragnarson
In-game, I'd like both NORMANDY and FRISIA to have aid and "represent "Brittany as I couldnt include them. Normandy is obviously much closer - not done yet with the normans

Æthelflæd
This entire infodumb/block is exactly why I vote in favor of keepin these guys over the Alemanni
Ubba Ragnarson
@Æthelflæd Make no mistake friend, Frisia was never going anywhere.

Frisia seems to want Korean or Mayan bonuses. You will have to come to a decision.

@Velvetclaw Unfortunately, I have mixed the Frisians up here.
Brittany could still aid the Frisians, but being that Normandy is right beside them, I believe that they would receive far more aid from Brittany.

"Bôgesjitter Ridanz" = Bow Cavalry?
Funnily enough, of all the Western factions of Rise of Kings only Burgundy had archer cavalry. AND - get a load of this - Frisia would have been part of their territories. LOL/
So it's: Peasant Levy, Skirmisher Levy (or Raiders) and then
Militia, Archers, and Spearmen, and then
Ridanz, Bogesjitter Ridanz and Lancer (? or Retinue Horse?)

As a basis, sounds about right. But check my notes in Normandy

Frisia, complete.
Frisia (Frisians - Germanic with Norse/Late-Game Frankish Influence) Leaders: Reik Aldgisl, Redbad, Poppo (Poppo's defeat led to Frankish domination) Religion/Culture: Germanic/ Germanic Pagan Best Units: Bloedwacht: *(Blood Guard; heavily-armoured, fierce infantry handpicked by the Reik to protect king and country no matter the cost. Typically used for guarding generals or the Reik himself; armed with battleaxes or sword & shield. Strongest Frisian unit, these men were bred for battle.) Keningswacht Kavalery Ridanz: (Light Raiding cavalry, expensive compared to their relatively cheap units, to represent their reliance on Britanny for Horsemen, their power comes from the chaos; among the best raiding cavalry in the game.) Bôgesjitter Ridanz (Light Ranged Cavalry: a force to be reckoned with used for raiding as well. Fast and among the best ranged cavalry in the game thanks to Brittany's fine bred steeds and the fierceness of these Germanic warriors.) Strengths: Field cheap, quicker infantry, trained faster, and good unique cavalry all-round as well. Building resistance against the Franks has allowed their buildings to have a better constitution at the cost of longer training time. Bretons send help in the form of tribute and "workers" as defensive towers (which are stronger and towers and fortressses train Breton levies and heavy units, respectively) are easier to make. Their Reik is trained with bodyguards, has more health than any other Germanic factions's leader, and has more craft. Weaknesses: Their cavalry are more expensive, to reflect their lack of horses and constant warfare. Their forts and cities take longer to build due to better constitution , but forts have decently less attack strength given balance. Their powerful Reik will hopefully offset this for a strategic player. Friesland is a balanced faction - they must contend with securing their border while being quite adept at rushing given slow unit recruitment time.
Allies:Saxony: Saxony and the surrounding Germanic tribes are allied closely with the Frisians in their fight against the Franks (HRE). The Frisians fight together with them sending warriors and invaluable Breton horses to them.. As does Saxony do the same. Brittany: Brittany is a protectorate of Normandy, they are more than an ally. King Rollo felt it was of greatest necessity that their fertile lands and supplies of horses be defended by both Frisia and his own kingdom. The Franks continually push to take out all "heathen tribes" and they know without Brittany, Normandy, Frisia, and the whole of Germania would suffer due to lack of their steeds, whilst the Franks field cavalry capable of destroying this coalition altogether.
