Economic reliance on having a pool of infantry to produce resources results in a lack of flexibility
With a preponderence set towards technology, research and resource-gathering, the United States is a faction that requires strong strategic flair to use. Th
Mercia (Mercians) Leaders: King Offa (Mercia fell from grace after Offa's death but still remained a relevant kingdom for sure) , King Burgred, King Ceowulf (Danish puppet king) , Lady Aethelflaed (Rare for a lady to rule a land in Britannia but Aethelflaed was no ordinary lady) Strength/Weaknesses: Best Unit: Cynedòm Éoredgeríd (Royal Horsemen). Banneret (Heavy infantry, typically used as General's bodyguards. Armed with longswords and attack fiercely.) Strength: Field the finest Anglo-Saxon cavalry force. Weakness: Focus on heavy cavalry leaves their light units less reliable, however their skirmishers are capable and the Welsh archers supplement the army well. Vassal(s): Glywysigg (Welsh; a petty kingdom recently assimilated) - This Welsh kingdom supplies light infantry - including famed Welsh archers albeit the Helwyr, not the professional platoons of the Saethwyr. Glywysigg's archers still do not match Gwynedd's but still better than Mercia's nonetheless. The faction despises being under Mercian rule, but Lord Hewil bent the knee when Mercia came upon them.

We've started experimenting with voices again in Project 666 - Huskarlar now speak a mix of Low German and Old English. Dunno if it's applicable to this faction IF and WHEN Project 666 finally is debugged.

Very applicable. Will all factions have voices?
this is my hope, of course .
I debated giving Vikings a Huskarl unit as well, the english really called them Housecarls , and we do have both of the factions having Thegns (Anglosaxon) and Thanes (Norse)
I believe. I still got work to do on these guys
Mercia needs tidying up

They do for Project 666, but not for Rise of Kings.

Kingdom of MerciaLeaders: King Offa , King Burghred, Lord Ceowulf II (Danish Puppet) , Lady Aethelflaed, Lord Aethelred Strength/Weaknesses: Best Units: Cynedòm Éoredgeríd (Royal Horsemen , heavily armoured, longswords and shields). Banneret (Heavy infantry, typically used as General's bodyguards. Armed with longswords and attack fiercely.). Aethelingas (Heavily armoured cavalry armed with lances/pikes). Strengths: Field the finest cavalry of all Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, and likely Britannia itself. Weaknesses: Focus on heavy cavalry leaves their light units less reliable, however their skirmishers are capable and the Welsh archers supplement the army. Vassals/Client States:Glywysigg: (Welsh; petty kingdom outside control of Cymru, annexed by Mercia) - This Welsh kingdom improved Mercian archers and they gain access to the lower level archer of Cymru, the Helwyr. Alas, not the professional platoons of the Saethwyr. Glywysigg's archers still do not match the larger Welsh kingdom , still the Helwyr archer is stronger than Mercia's nonetheless. The faction despises being under Mercian rule, but Lord Hewil bent the knee when Mercia came upon them, considering they also didn't want a part of a larger Welsh kingdom and Glwysigg assume the Mercians will destroy it sooner or later. Gwent: Long-time allies of Glywysigg, they both lay in rather precarious positions - the united Kingdom of Cymru, the first Welsh kingdom united in any distant memory not far from their borders and Mercia nearly at their borders, and so when their trusted ally bent the knee to Mercia in exchange for protection - So too did the king of Gwent.
