Economic reliance on having a pool of infantry to produce resources results in a lack of flexibility
With a preponderence set towards technology, research and resource-gathering, the United States is a faction that requires strong strategic flair to use. The United States shares some units with England and France, but in other areas it also has other units worth noting: a line of medium ranged and melee cavalry; a Marine unit that emerges two ages earlier than other factions'; as well as a slew differing units at differing ages. It is thus somewhat of a challenge using the United States, as one has to keep in mind that American strengths and weaknesses often shift this way and that way - but one can be assured that by the last two eras, the United States is an extremely strong military force.
The Alemanni Coalition comprises Germanic tribes of which have banded together - akin to the olden days of the Suebi tribe confederation. They will represent not only the Alemanni, but Bavaria, Bohemia, and Swabia among other tribes. They hold to their Germanic pagan beliefs and with these powers joint together, they hope to hold out against the looming shadow of Frankia. Only the Norns (player) threading their webs of fate know what will become of a tribal confederation surrounded by an empire. What is known, however, is these "Barbarians" as the Franks call them, will go to Valhalla before bowing to the so-called emperor. They have elected their chieftain from among the

So do these guys use the Saxon pool from Project 666?
Ubba Ragnarson
Not a bad idea; I will look into it. Is project 666 up as I have never seen as of yet the mod itself?
It is suppoosed to get a Gold edition update but there have been CTD issues. Fortunately for you my issues with Starbound are coming to an end.

Seems to be problems with your mod, friend. Saxons are still native Americans.
Also, hoping for some bright ideas of originality for this coalition

Not many
I am afraid.
Unless you can find something.
I'll playtest the Saxons, again, later today

@everyone as much as this pains me, the Alemanni confederation are the number one candidate for kicking and thus will be kicked from the playable nations... We can spread them out as client states, and they can be represented with the Frisians, Normans, and other Germanic nations as "allied" tribes.
@Velvetclaw let me know if you agree with this decision. I am still going to consider them apart of the game but I'm not kicking Norway. This is the Rise of the VIkings and at this time most Germanic tribes, including Saxony was under the rule of Francia.

Those that were not WILL be represented. Minor factions will be represented regardless if they are playable (i.e. Papal States)
I will outline which tribes are going to be featured, minor non-playable factions still have a role to play, so to speak
Ubba Ragnarson
We can pull from your various tribes and such like your saxons to represent allied tribes to the major factions.
Velvetclaw
A bit sad, but alas, it has to be done.
But I have just one question - why the Alemanni, and not the Frisians?
@Velvetclaw
But I have just one question - why the Alemanni, and not the Frisians?
Æthelflæd
I personally vote in favor of keeping the Frisians over the Alemanni tbh; While I like both what I do know, at least wht Ive found out thru here and personal research, shows that the Frisians themselves played a major role too. I think appearances also play a role in my vote - Ig this is more directed toward u than Ubba, since youll be the one posting it, but do u believe people would rather the Alemanni as playable than Frisians?
Velvetclaw
I see.
So everything has come together then.
I'll start vetting Swords of the Prophets, to find out what exactly is causing CTD.
Then the assembly work can begin.
Ubba Ragnarson
In terms of factions, yes. There are a few more that need be finished. Those being Norway, Cordoba, and Abbasids as my center focus currently. I will have more free time coming soon for completion/faction replacement. In terms of DEFINITIVE playable nations, yes we are complete.
However, this page won't be going anywhere, because they will be an "ally" to another major faction such as Frisia, broken up into tribes w historical accuracy.
Velvetclaw
Cordoba and Abbasids are not an issue as I've covered them before
Norway?
That will be interesting.
Ubba Ragnarson
Norway, i will handle it. It is my next faction - no doubt.
They will be completely diverse to denmark, hopefully
Velvetclaw
So all 24 factions have been decided on but no culture bonuses so far
Let me know when you've nailed them.
Ubba Ragnarson
will do frined

Any iswsues with Swords of the Prophets to bring up, before I bwegin auditing?
I will be using Blender to review any and all Patriot and infantry charge anims.
Ubba Ragnarson
I will look up on your wiki etc. to get a good grip on that mod. I believe combining assets from Warbirth, Swords of the Prophets, etc. is a good idea
Germanic tribes would be more primitive regardless comparing to frankia
Strathclyde could take a lot from your roman factions
New World Empires WikiCategory talk:Swords of the ProphetsProblems wiht this mod? We found several CTD-causing factors: Infantry using Angrybird Run, and HvyClub jog for attack animations Cavalry charge animations - ModCav, and LightHorse Run - need...
This is what I've got so far.

Yes , Saxons for some reason are Iroquois. I believe, once and only once through my playtesting they came up as the Norse but still had native American UUs however when starting it was indeed the Norse. So it is operative but very buggy.
@Velvetclaw your New World Empires mod is interesting. I find the obscure factions you've included to parallel mine almost. Noone knows of the Idrisid Sultanate for example- I didn't even know about them until the research was done for that part of Northern Raven and yet the Moors came from them! Amazing. Note: I will leave the old text up to see the progress I have made in my knowledge and our overall progress together over the last months.

The scouring of the pagans has begun. The Saxon Reik hailed by people across Germania as King Widukind. a hero to all those of Germania (to this very day across Germany and beyond, especially revered by modern pagans) for his courage and resilience to the Crusade mounted against his brethren over 18 campaigns mounted against them. Saxony is unique in that their allies play a most prominent role; more than any other nation, so much so they are at times called The Saxon Confederation which comprises the leading kingdom of Saxony banded together with their Germanic allies. The peoples of Alemanni, Bavaria, Swabia, Westphalia and Eastphalia, and all across Germania. Even those subjugated previously have began to rise in revolt at the morale King Widukind brings to their peoples. Saxony's primary ally otherwise is Frisia who, have vowed to fight alongside them against the Christians. They hold to their pagan beliefs wholeheartedly and the . With these powers joint together, they attempt to hold out against the looming shadow of forced Christian domination, as Charlemagne launches several campaigns to dominate Saxony and their allies. Only the Norns (player) threading their webs of fate know what will become of a confederation surrounded by an empire. Along with the Frisians and Normans, they hope to defeat the Franks before they absorb all that is rightfully theirs. Thanks to the historical destruction of Germanic pagan texts and sacred sites, not much is known of many of these tribes.... What is known, however, is these "Barbarians" will go to Valhalla before bowing to the "Emperor of Rome" beliefs.
- Germanic factions have Seers and Seeresses; Otherwise function the same as Norse Volva. Regenerating health for units with the added bonus of amazing LOS.
- ALL Germanic Major Generals = Reik- Leaders of Germanic armies and an ode to their ancestors'.
- Germanic Minor Generals = Drohtin - Leaders of Germanic warbands.
- Anglo Saxon factions have Huscarls and all field unique longbowmen.
- Anglo-Saxon General units called the Dryhten. Leaders of Anglo-Saxon warbands.
- Anglo-Saxon "senate" leaders called the Earl. Leaders of Anglo-Saxon regions. Wessex' called the King as is what they believed themselves to be for most of our timeline.
- Norse factions should field the best Navy - Frankia (HRE) and Byzantium (ERE) as contenders. Abbasids and Idrisids also field a fine naval force.
- Norse factions have Berserkirs - the Berserkir was a crucial unit for the Vikings, serves as a fast-moving tank.
- Norse factions field Shieldmaidens - female warriors armed with swords or axes and Skaldjberi counterpart.
- Anglo-Saxon Kingoms may call upon their Fyrds - Levies from surrounding Earldoms. If possible, differentation of factions' Fyrds' power based on their own power would work. More info has been added in followup rulesets below.
- Natives of England have excellent archers. Welsh field the finest in-game.
