Strengths

  • Good research capability
  • Good cavalry and infantry

Weaknesses

  • Economic reliance on having a pool of infantry to produce resources results in a lack of flexibility

With a preponderence set towards technology, research and resource-gathering, the United States is a faction that requires strong strategic flair to use. The United States shares some units with England and France, but in other areas it also has other units worth noting: a line of medium ranged and melee cavalry; a Marine unit that emerges two ages earlier than other factions'; as well as a slew differing units at differing ages. It is thus somewhat of a challenge using the United States, as one has to keep in mind that American strengths and weaknesses often shift this way and that way - but one can be assured that by the last two eras, the United States is an extremely strong military force.

Marines are the heart of the American war machine. With the ability to entrench themselves, the Marines will be useful for creating fortified positions which will be hard to beat without resorting to a flanking attack. Thus, they work well as a meat shield that can absorb plenty of damage until you can manoeuvre your medium cavalry and musketeers into position for a good attack.

  1. - The Kingdom of Uppland (Also referred to as the Kingdom of Uppsala) are the only Norse nation, with a focus on defense and devout holiness, and have different rulesets than other Norse factions - -Hofgothi (Pagan Priests), Seers , and Seeresses. - Field well-armored berserkirs unseen in Scandinavian nations otherwise. -They feature, along with the Grand Temple of Uppsala, three distinct worship halls to Thor, Odin, and Freyja. These Halls function as training grounds for unique units, - The Worship Hall of Odin trains their Hothgothi (Uppsala Priests) and Seers - The Worship Hall of Thor trains Hothgothi Dreng (Warrior Priests) and their unique Brynja Berserkirs  (Armored Berserkers) - The Worship Hall of Freyja trains their Hailagaz (Sacred) Shieldmaidens and Seeresses (More will be layed out within this faction page. This is hoping these features can be implemented)

"est Units: Hofgothi Dreng (Warrior Priests, fighting with sacred swords and shields but with lower armour - making up for it with regenerating health and high attack, and if with the healing Seers/Seeresses they are a force ton be reckoned with), Hailagaz Shieldmaidens  (Shield-bearers, high armour and fight with axes and swords), Brynja Berserkirs (Armored Berserkirs, heavy attack and field axes and shields/great axes), Ulfsark: The standard Norse infantry, however these are a bit more armoured than the Norwegian and Danish Ulfsarks. Strengths: Uppsala is the center of the Norse faith; therefore, they have strengths attributed to this. Their Hofgothi are healers. as well as the Gothi, the Priest of Odin having both healing and general powers and unique to the Swedes. . the Hofgothi Drengir are regenerating warrior-priests. They can produce the standard Nordic troops, as well as the fact their buildings get a bonus to HP and due to Bjorn's sailing, a discount on mercenaries especially Jomsvikings. With Seers, Volva, and the Hofgothi and everything around their spiritually riveted nation gives them unique powers. They have special temples as well with high HP. Weaknesses: They are not as well in offense , compared to other Nordic kingdoms , Uppland are the only truly defensive Norse nations. This could be a disadvantage for those playing against a very strong offensive nation, but this doesn't mean the people of Uppland and its vassals don't have the means to go a-viking as other Scandinavians have. Bjorn Ironside, canonical ruler, has traded and raided across many lands the others have yet to see."

Unlike all western factions, the USA has no access heavy cavalry variants, but this is very much offset by the fact that their cavalry, being medium cavalry, is highly versatile. Cuirassiers may be mighty but do not function well due to their speed and cost. Thus, when needed, mass as many medium cav units to swarm enemy cuirassiers, or break your cavalry units into individual groups for fast hammer-and-anvil strikes on unprotected targets, such as skirmishers and isolated line infantry.
